Silver and Gold

Winter is silver, summer is gold.
Each precious moment we watch unfold.
Midsummer warmth now gone by the way.
Jack Frost arrives, all cloudy and gray.

Softly

Softly falls the winter snow,
As day fades into indigo.
Songbird trills a muted cry
Into the dusky evening sky.

Seabird Village Holidays

It’s winter in our village
And the holidays are here.
A time of myth and magic
And the stories we hold dear.

Journeys

Ere long Santa starts his journey
When his reindeer soar on high
On his sleigh he’ll soon be gliding
Saint Nick’s coming by and by

Promise

Midwinter’s here, a time to be jolly.
A promise of chestnuts, tinsel, and holly.

Shine

A candle glows on windowsill,
A tiny piece of sunshine.
The wistful call of whippoorwill,
A shadow draped in moonshine.

Silver Blue Mornings

Silver blue mornings,
Silken ice on the lake.
The scent of the moon
Fills my dreams ere I wake.

Snowflakes {one by one}

One by one, the snowflakes fall
On mountain, glen, and tree.
Veiling all with frost white quilts
Of lace and filigree.

Winter Moon

Beneath a winter moon,
Under the starry sky,
The world with snow bestrewn,
I hear the night bird’s cry.

Coming Back

Come winter, trees stand silent,
Bare and silvery black.
But mother earth knows ere long,
The sun is coming back.
